A police office in Colorado is investigating three officers who ended up allegedly photographed reenacting the chokehold maneuver cops made use of on Elijah McClain in the vicinity of a memorial for him, a report claimed Monday.
The officers allegedly took the photos around the place McClain was stopped and detained by Aurora Law enforcement soon in advance of his death in 2019, CBS Denver reported, citing sources familiar with the investigation.
The images of the cops allegedly unfold all over the Aurora Law enforcement Department before the interior investigations section caught wind of them and commenced a probe.
The interim police main of the division said in a statement late Monday evening that all the officers involved ended up suspended with pay back pending the investigation.
“Thursday afternoon, I was apprised of allegations described to Inside Affairs by an Aurora Police Officer alleging various Aurora Police officers were depicted in pictures around the website in which Elijah McClain died,” Vanessa Wilson reported in the statement.
